Board of Directors

Reliance State Bank is managed by a board of directors, consisting of three executive members and six non-executive members.

Richard Schreier - President and CEO

Mr. Schreier joined Reliance State Bank in November of 2006 and has served as President & CEO since 2008. Mr. Schreier began his banking career at State Bank & Trust Co. in 1990, where his concluding role was serving as the Vice President – Senior Lender & Compliance Officer.

John Pierschbacher- Chairman of the Board

Mr. Pierschbacher has served as a Director of Ames National Corporation since 2018. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of the Company in 2018 after having served as Controller since 2008. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Pierschbacher served as a Director with RSM, US LLP, and as Chief Financial Officer of a publicly traded bank holding company in Iowa. In addition to Reliance State Bank, he also currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Boone Bank & Trust Co.

Bill Paulus - Market President in Garner

Mr. Paulus joined Reliance State Bank in December of 2002 and has served as Market President since 2017. Mr. Paulus began his banking career at Manufacturers Bank & Trust in 1994, where his concluding role was serving as Vice President- Senior Ag lender.
